Small Updates

I just logged out of the management console where I was working on my brother's company's new website. That makes two days in a row that I've been able to work for a few hours. I wish there was enough work for me to log in every day for a few hours, but I'll take what I can get at this point.

It turns out I enjoy web programming. The more I do, the more I want to do. So, it's not just the prospect of making a few dollars that propels me to work on the website.

I've also been really good lately in going over to Starbucks and studying C# for an hour or two each day. A couple weeks ago I made myself buy a bus pass so I wouldn't have the excuse of not having bus fare. Since then— and since the pass wasn't cheap!— I've been successful in making myself hike out to the closest bus stop and get on the damned thing. I wish I didn't need to ride the bus, but with the temps where they've been, I've no other choice. The ironic thing is, because I have to transfer once to make the 2½-mile trip to Starbucks, it takes me about as long to ride the bus as it would to walk. Fortunately, my Kindle and my DS both make the time pass quickly.

I would prefer to ride a bicycle to Starbucks, but I've no money for a bicycle right now. Maybe in the future...

My neighbors continue to aggravate me. It's not that they outwardly rude neighbors, but, having gotten under my skin, they are simply an irritant to me now. Yesterday I spent the bulk the afternoon away from home and returned in the early evening. I came back to find that the sprinkler, commonly moved about the yard by the local groundskeeper and/or my neighbors, was on my front porch. In addition, the water had not been shut off fully. My porch mat was thoroughly soaked and is still drying off. I was furious— even though I'm sure this was done by the little boy, who didn't realize that the water was still on. At least, I hope that's the explanation.

Well, I am going to get some reading in tonight. Back soon!
